About kiša.com

kiša.com is a free website that shows on a single map where it is raining right now and when the rain reaches your town.

What the site offers

  • An animated live rain radar showing how the rain has moved over the past hour.
  • An estimate of how many minutes until rain reaches your location, plus alerts before the rain if you turn them on.
  • A page for every city with an hourly forecast, a 14-day outlook, UV index and air quality. Browse all cities.
  • A live overview of the warmest and coldest cities today.

Where the data comes from

  • Rain radar: RainViewer, which combines data from weather radars.
  • Forecast, UV index and air quality: Open-Meteo, including the CAMS model for air quality.
  • City climate: historical measurements from the ERA5 reanalysis, via the Open-Meteo archive.
  • Map: OpenFreeMap and OpenStreetMap. Place search: Nominatim (OpenStreetMap).

The radar refreshes every few minutes. Forecasts are updated several times a day.

How accurate is it

The radar shows rain that is already in the air, while the forecast and the arrival time of rain are estimates. A short-range estimate for the next hour or two is usually more reliable than one for several days ahead. Temperature, UV and air quality values come from models and can differ from local station measurements.

For that reason the site is not a replacement for official warnings. During storms and other dangerous weather, follow your national weather service, such as the National Weather Service in the US, the Met Office in the UK, Environment Canada, the Bureau of Meteorology in Australia or Met Éireann in Ireland.

Free, no account needed

You can use the site without signing up. We use your location only to show the weather where you are, and you can read the details in the privacy policy.
